Circuit Breaker Refurbishment
When a circuit breaker is refurbished correctly, they will operate and last as long as brand new ones. Refurbishments are for circuit breakers that have a high operating frequency, or near the end of their lubricating OEM recommended lifecycle.CPS provides refurbishment services for both low and medium voltage circuit breakers with highly trained technicians.

CPS takes your circuit breaker and refurbishes the breaker to “like new” operating condition. Carolina Precision Switchgear provides a one year warranty on parts and labor.

From start to finish, all of our refurbishments are performed in house, and our clients are at ease knowing their breakers never leave our shop.

Switchgear Inspection
CPS provides switchgear testing, inspection, maintenance, & repair. It is generally recommended that metal-clad switchgear be inspected six months to a year after
installation and then every five years subsequently to ensure proper performance of the switchgear. The frequency of inspections are determined by the level of the facility’s experience as well as plant conditions. Carolina Precision Switchgear can inspect, test and repair your switchgear per OEM specifications.

Thermography (Infrared Electrical Equipment Diagnostics)
Our energy auditors, certified infrared technicians,can perform infrared thermography imaging, or infrared scanning to detect thermal defects. Thermography surveys of electrical systems can detect hot electrical connections or components. Thermographic imaging of mechanical systems can detect the heat created by excess friction. Infrared scanning allows our technicians to check the efficiency of insulation in a building's envelope. The resulting infrared thermographic survey helps determine whether a building’s insulation needs to be addressed, and identify where in the building more insulation should be installed. Since wet insulation conducts heat faster than dry insulation, thermography surveys may also detect roof leaks.
